This location features a vibrant mural of Iemanjá, the sea goddess, blending African and Brazilian cultures, attracting tourists with its rich spiritual heri...
This mural is the representation of the deity Iemanjá, the "orisha" who represents the energy of the moon and the sea. This religious figure comes from the culture of the Yoruba people in Africa. It expanded throughout Brazil in the escalist period and merged with Brazilian cults, then rised to Umbanda and others. Lemanjá is known in Brazil as the mother of all and Queen of the Sea, protector of fishermen. It has a deep connection with our “Mare de Déu de la Candelera” for origin reasons, but the evolution in different geographical points maintains coincidences such as the day of celebration of both entities on February 2.
